Microsoft is joining in on the superhero fun and craze that surrounds the latest release from Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War, and to mark this occasion has created a unique Special Edition Xbox One. What is even more exciting, is that they are planning on giving them (three consoles/units to be exact) away for free.
This exclusive console was "created" by Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
The base color (which is a bit weird considering Iron Man's iconic armor is red and gold) is white and features an Arc Reactor similar to the one used to power the Iron Man armor, along with a Stark Industries logo right above it just to remind you that the power source/design is legit and not some cheap malfunctioning knock off.
The Arc Reactor is an actual working prop as it lights up whenever the console is being used. The same goes for the controller, white color base with the buttons covered in black. The power button on the controller loses it's trademark X insignia and is replaced with a mini arc reactor that also lights up during use.
Take a closer look in the video below.
The console design resembles more one of the many armors that we got a chance to see during 2013's Iron Man 3, more specifically the Mark 39 Sub Orbital Suit codenamed "Gemini".
There are three units that sport this design, and they will be given away via Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. One per social media outlet.
However, there is a catch to this giveaway, and that is that the contest is only open to all current residents of France.
What do think about this design?
Would you shell out the cash for one if it were to hit retailers or would you like it better if it were the classic red and gold color scheme?
Or a bit more, would you like for Microsoft to release a Captain America inspired Xbox One to commemorate the U.S. movie premiere coming up next week?
Captain America: Civil War is the follow-up to 2014's hugely popular Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it is the third in the Captain America series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is currently on its opening weekend in international markets and is set to release in North America on May 6, 2016.
The film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, gunplay and action throughout.
Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
