The Deleted Scenes From Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice Discussed or Revealed By Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder so Far!!

Of all the material that was cut to make the film a manageable length for a theater release, there are already some scenes that have been released by WB or discussed by director Zack Snyder.

Check it out below.

1. Lex Luthor's Visions

It seems to take place after Doomsday is defeated as soldiers descend upon the Kryptonian ship where Lex took Zod into, and it sheds light into Lex's paranoid like rambling at the end of the film when Batman confronts him in jail.

As the soldiers approach the end of the hallway and come upon a chamber, they witness Lex Luthor as he is having some sort of vision. In that vision, we see an alien horned being with three black boxes floating in front of him. That horned alien is rumored to be Yuga Khan, Darkseid's father, and those black floating boxes? Mother Boxes, which have been confirmed by Zack Snyder. We see one of those boxes in the film, in one of the encrypted videos that Wonder Woman views while browsing the files that Lex had on other Meta-Humans. Specifically, in the third video that Wonder Woman views, where we see a scientist recording his findings and in the background there is a suspended torso to which the black box aka Mother Box, attaches itself to after it activates, thus creating the superhero Cyborg.

2. Superman's Powers

Another deleted scene, one that was discussed by Zack Snyder during an interview with IGN, has to do with Superman's inability to locate his mother Martha.
While many rightfully so have brought up some plot holes, one that seems to be making the rounds more is the incoherence of Superman's powers. How Superman can hear/sense that Lois is in danger half a world away and in a split second be there to rescue her, while at the same time moments/days later he can't hear/sense where his mother is when she is being held hostage by Lex Luthor and rescue her the same way seems to have left people scratching their heads.

According to Snyder, the reason for that is:

"To me, from Metropolis to Smallville is probably just on the edge of his range of hearing. Also, the clutter of the city makes it difficult as well. We had a scene that we cut from the movie where he tries to look for her when he finds out that Lex has got her. It was a slightly dark scene that we cut out because it sort of represented this dark side. Because when he was looking for his mom he heard all the cries of all the potential crimes going on in the city."

3. Jena Malone's Character

Although not openly discussed but seemingly leaked via a faux-pas by Warner Bros. is the role of Jena Malone. While it has been long speculated that she would be portraying Carrie Kelly, and/or Batgirl. Although vehemently denied by both, the film's studio and it's director, a small slip-up might have revealed who in fact Jena Malone is actually playing.

According to a Reddit user, Jena Malone was revealed to be playing Barbara Gordon via a survey.

The insinuation that Jena Malone may not be playing Batgirl, yet at the same time could be portraying Barbara Gordon may not make sense to some viewers, might be because she gave up being Batgirl after an unfortunate incident befell upon her. That incident, which is portrayed in the one-shot comic book "The Killing Joke," happens to involve Batman's most recognized and all time greatest nemesis, The Joker.
In this series of events, The Joker in an attempt to prove to Batman that a bad day can push anyone over the edge, shoots Barbara Gordon and paralyzing her in the process, and kidnaps her father, Commissioner James Gordon.
The story had such an influence on the Batman mythos that Barbara Gordon's tragic shooting was somewhat made cannon and would then become Oracle.
In the New 52, Barbara regains her mobility through extensive therapy and resumes her role as Batgirl.
Still, take this last entry with a grain of salt. Which version we get in the R - Rated cut of the film is still unknown, but given the tone of the film, and how it more than hinted at the demise of one of Batman's closest allies, we could very well be looking at Barbara Gordon's tragic encounter with the Joker.

4. Robin's Suit

Robin's death has also been touched upon by Snyder. In an interview granted to IGN he revealed his motive behind the vandalized Robin suit we see in the film.

"In my mind, it was that Robin had died 10 years earlier, during some run in with a young Joker. To me, it was a fun backstory there to play with. The whole idea was that there had been loss and sacrifice. In a weird way, he sacrificed everything to be Batman, right? He doesn't really have a life outside of the cave. I thought by including Robin - a dead Robin - it would help us understand he's been on quite a little journey."
Zack Snyder

Staying with the comic book backstory of this incident, The Joker, as with Batgirl/Barbara Gordon is responsible for this haunting event that plagues The Dark Knight.

Robin has a discussion with Batman after being reckless during a sting operation, and in turn has him being "put on timeout. By chance, he happens to discover that his biological mother might be alive and thus sets out to try and find her. While on his search, which leads him to the middle east, he finds his biological mother who, unbeknownst to him is being blackmailed by The Joker.
Robin's mother, having done some pretty mischevious deeds, tries to cover her crimes and turns Jason Todd, in full Robin costume over to The Joker who proceeds to beat him without remorse and later leaves him with a time bomb which ends up killing Robin and his mother.

5.  "Superman's Pal(?)"

One more, although minuscule detail that we will get just a tad bit more of in the home release, will be Jimmy Olsen.
It most certainly went over everybody's head, but Jimmy Olsen actually made an appearance in the film, and yes, he was working covering a story for the Daily Planet, albeit as a cover up. If you haven't figured it out yet, he was the camera-man that gets made as an undercover CIA agent and gets executed by the terrorists whom Lois tries to interview in Africa.

So far, this is pretty much the content that has been touched upon since the release of the film that wasn't in the theatrical release.

Knowing this might be just the tip of the iceberg in regards to material that was left on the cutting room floor, are you ready to snatch up a copy of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it is released in home media later this year?
